Amyloid probability score in Plasma by Calculation
Active
Term Description
The term repersents The PrecivityAD2™ test. This test is an analytically and clinically validated blood test designed to assist healthcare providers in diagnosing Alzheimer's disease (AD) in patients with mild cognitive impairment or dementia. It quantifies specific plasma amyloid beta and tau peptides using liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS) to calculate the Aβ42/40 and p-tau217/np-tau217 ratios. These ratios are combined in a proprietary algorithm to produce the Amyloid Probability Score 2 (APS2), a numerical value from 0-100 that indicates the likelihood of brain amyloid plaques. By providing a non-invasive alternative to PET scans, the PrecivityAD2™ test enhances diagnostic accuracy while mitigating the effects of confounding factors.
