Active
Term Description
The measurement of ethyl sulfate together with ethyl glucuronide. Both are biomarkers for recent alcohol consumption. Testing for both may increase sensitivity.

Part Descriptions
LP182347-7 Ethyl sulfate+Ethyl glucuronide
Ethyl glucuronide (EtG) is a direct metabolite of ethanol, which is formed by enzymatic conjugation of ethanol with glucuronic acid. Alcohol in the urine is normally detected for only a few hours versus several days for EtG. EtG, therefore, can be used to monitor compliance programs for abstinence from alcohol.

LP182347-7 Ethyl sulfate+Ethyl glucuronide
Ethyl sulphate (EtS) is a direct metabolite of ethanol and a biomarker for recent alcohol consumption. Because the EtS pathway is different than Ethyl glcuronide (EtG), but the window of assessment similar, running the assays together may increase sensitivity.
Addiction. 2006 Feb;101(2):204-11. Ethyl sulphate: a direct ethanol metabolite reflecting recent alcohol consumption. Wurst FM, Dresen S, Allen JP, Wiesbeck G, Graf M, Weinmann W.
