Birth defect reporting may include congenital or structural malformation, or a biochemical or genetic disease, or any information relevant to incidents of birth defects. This term was created for, but not limited in use to, the Implementation Guide for Ambulatory Healthcare Provider Reporting to Central Birth Defect Registries, HL7 Clinical Document Architecture (CDA).
