The "Probe.mag capture" Method has been deprecated and replaced with the more general "Probe" Method since the "mag capture" portion represents how the nucleic acids are isolated, which is not a distinction made in the LOINC Method for molecular tests. Given that updating the Method would change the meaning of the term, a new term was created to replace the existing term as recommended by the Special Topics workgroup on PCR-based Methods and approved by the LOINC Lab Committee at the June 2017 meeting.

Resistance marker gene results will only be reported when an organism is also detected by the assay (includes any Acinetobacter, Citrobacter, Enterobacter, Proteus, E. coli, K. pneumoniae, K. oxytoca, and/or P. aeruginosa).
