Platelet dry mass distribution width (PMDW) is the standard deviation of the platelet dry mass distribution and a measure of the variability of platelet density. Disseminated intravascular coagulation (DIC) is associated with the dramatic hemostasis activation, with evidence of fibrin creation and platelet consumption.
