Part Descriptions
LP200582-7 Amisulpride
Amisulpride is a derivative of substituted benzamide and a second generation antipsychotic drug used to treat chronic schizophrenia. Low doses of amisulpride promote neurotransmission by blocking presynaptic dopamine autoreceptors D2 and D3. High doses of amisulpride reduce dopaminergic transmission by binding the postsynaptic dopamine D2 and D3 receptors more favorably in the limbic system. PMID: 11735643Blocking the postsynaptic D2 and D3 receptors in the limbic system is highly prognostic of powerful antipsychotic activity. Some data suggests that amisulpride is also effective in patients with dysthymia. Side effects to amisulpride include a low incidence of cardiac toxicity, hypotension, sedation, anticholinergic symptoms, weight gain and extrapyramidal side effects.http://medind.nic.in/daa/t07/i2/daat07i2p140.pdf

LP7238-1 Body fld
The LOINC "Body fld" System represents body fluids other than serum, plasma, blood, urine, and cerebrospinal fluid. When a LOINC term with the System "Body fld" is used, the specific specimen source or body fluid type should be reported elsewhere with the result. Where more specific terms for pleural, peritoneal, synovial fluid, etc. exist, we encourage you to use the more specific terms. In contrast to "Body fld", the System "Asp" in LOINC represents the fluid withdrawn during an aspiration procedure from an abnormal collection of fluid, such as from an abscess or cyst. "Asp" is used for abnormal fluid collections that are aspirated, while "Body fld" is used for named body fluids, such as synovial fluid or peritoneal fluid, that are not inherently pathologic.
