Acinetobacter baumannii DNA [Presence] by NAA with non-probe detection in Positive blood culture
Active
Term Description
Qualitative detection of nucleic acid sequences in Acinetobacter baumannii DNA in positive blood culture specimens by target amplification and non-probe detection methods, such as melt curve analysis. This term was created for, but not limited in use to, the submitter's test kit, FilmArray Blood Culture Identification panel v2.

Part Descriptions
LP102498-5 Acinetobacter baumannii DNA
Acinetobacter baumannii is an aerobic, gram negative bacterium and part of the Acinetobacter calcoaceticus-baumannii (ACB) complex. PMCID: PMC4757776 It is a frequent cause of both community and health care-associated infections, including bacteremia, pneumonia, meningitis, urinary tract infections, and wound infections, because of its ability to survive in a wide range of environmental conditions and the extent of its multidrug-resistance. PMID: 16447117 A. baumannii is considered to be among the most difficult antimicrobial-resistant gram-negative bacilli to control and treat. PMID: 18444865
