Escherichia coli eaeA gene [Presence] in Isolate by NAA with probe detection
Active
Part Description
LP262452-8 Escherichia coli eaeA gene
The gene that encodes intimin is the eaeA gene (E. coli attaching-effacing gene). PMID: 7648523 Porcine enteropathogenic E. coli (PEPEC) is a non-enterotoxigenic strain of E. coli that causes postweaning diarrhea (PWD). PEPEC attaches to intestinal epithelial cells in a characteristic pattern called attaching and effacing (A/E). To achieve a close attachment to the enterocytes, PEPEC produces an outer membrane protein called intimin that is critical to induce the distinctive A/E lesion. PMID: 24294249The eaeA gene of Enteropathogenic Escherichia coli (EPEC) plays a role in human infection and virulence. PMID: 8376594
