Escherichia coli fedF gene [Presence] in Isolate by NAA with probe detection

Part Description
LP262468-4 Escherichia coli fedF gene
The Escherichia coli fedF gene encodes the F18 fimbrial adhesion. Escherichia coli (EC) is a gram-negative, flagellated, rod-shaped bacterium that is composed of a stable core set of genes, and another more fluid set of genes that includes the virulence genes. The virulence genes can be transferred laterally between dividing EC. These virulence genes increase the pathogenicity of EC and encode heat-stable and heat-labile enterotoxins, Shiga toxin 2e, and fimbria, including the F18 fimbria. PMID: 7021219[https://vetmed.iastate.edu/vdpam/FSVD/swine/index-diseases/colibacillosis] E. coli infection in pigs causes post-weaning diarrhea (PWD) which leads to watery diarrhea, dehydration, loss of body weight, and occasionally death. EC adheres to the small intestine using adhesin factors, and produces one or more exotoxins that induce fluid and electrolyte secretion. PMID: 7648523
