Chlamydophila pneumoniae DNA [Presence] in Upper respiratory specimen by NAA with probe detection
Active
Part Description
LP14396-3 Chlamydophila pneumoniae
Chlamydophila pneumoniae belongs to the Chlamydiaceae bacterial family. C pneumoniae is a frequent cause of acute respiratory infection, such as, pharyngitis, bronchitis, sinusitis, and community-acquired pneumonia (CAP). It is typically spread by coughing or sneezing, and initial infection usually occurs in school-age children. Most infections are self-limited, but outbreaks can occur in group settings such as schools and barracks. IgG antibodies to C. pneumonia can persist for years after infection. PMID: 22514397
