LP263694-4 Human coronavirus 229E+HKU1+NL63+OC43 RNA
Coronaviruses are positive-sense, single-stranded RNA viruses. The envelope of the virus has glycoprotein spikes that give it a crown-like appearance. There are six strains of coronavirus within two subgroups that infect humans. The strains of human coronaviruses that commonly infect people worldwide include 229E and NL63 in the Alpha subgroup and OC43 and HKU1 in the Beta subgroup. These viruses most often cause common cold symptoms, but can also lead to pneumonia. Severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus (SARS-CoV) and the Middle East Respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus (MERS-CoV) are less common but cause more severe illness.[https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/types.html][https://academic.oup.com/cid/article/37/7/929/422314]

92884-6 Parainfluenza virus 1+2+3+4 RNA [Presence] in Upper respiratory specimen by NAA with probe detection
Part Descriptions
LP145690-6 Parainfluenza virus 1+2+3+4
Human parainfluenza viruses (HPIVs) have been recognized as a cause of respiratory tract infections for many decades. They belong to the Paramyxoviridae family, subfamily Paramyxovirinae, and are classified into 4 serotypes. Serotype 4 can be further subdivided into 2 antigenic subtypes, HPIV-4A and HPIV-4B.

LP145690-6 Parainfluenza virus 1+2+3+4
Parainfluenza virus is from the family Paramyxoviridae and the genera Paramyxovirus which includes the parainfluenza viruses and the mumps virus. Paramyxoviruses are particles up to 300 nm in diameter. They are spiral, tube-like symmetrical nucleocapsids which contain a monopartite, single-stranded, negative-sense RNA genome and an RNA-directed RNA polymerase. There is a matrix protein at the base of a double-layered lipid envelope which contains spikes with two glycoproteins, a viral attachment protein and a fusion protein. The viral protein spikes in parainfluenza viruses have hemagglutinating and neuraminidase activities. As all paramyxoviruses are labile, they are quickly inactivated (e.g., by heat, detergents, ultraviolet light). Primary infections occur in young children and cause mild or severe upper and lower respiratory tract infections. Reinfection is common and results in milder manifestation. Transmission is by direct contact or by droplets. Parainfluenza virus diseases are usually endemic although they can be epidemic. [NCBI Books:NBK8461]
