Factor VIII inhibitors are IgG antibodies that when present can lead to the development of possibly life-threatening hemorrhages. These antibodies most commonly are found in patient with Hemophilia A, elderly patients, postpartum mothers, and autoimmune deficient patients.

Factor VIII is produced in the liver and acts in the intrinsic pathway of blood coagulation.
