Description
Acetylcysteine, also known as N-acetylcysteine (NAC), is commonly used to treat disorders including, but not limited to, paracetamol intoxication, acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS), bronchitis, and psychiatric disorders. NAC also serves as a mucolytic agent in patients with cystic fibrosis (CF) or chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). PMID: 23618697 Source: LOINC
