Part Description
LP203254-0 Multi-trace element supplement intake
Required in very small amounts, trace elements such as iron, iodine, fluoride, copper, zinc, chromium, selenium, manganese and molybdenum are essential for maintaining health. Trace elements are usually defined as minerals that are required in amounts between 1 to 100 mg/day by adults or make up less than 0.01 percent of total body weight. Also referred to as microminerals or inorganic micronutrients, trace elements are part of enzymes, hormones and cells in the body. Insufficient intake of trace minerals can cause symptoms of nutritional deficiency. However, an individual's needs for these trace elements are easily met by eating a variety of foods from the different food groups.
