Term Description
The macroscopic finding for the presence or absence of perforation through the tumor. Perforation through the tumor into the peritoneal cavity is a well established adverse prognostic factor in colonic and rectal cancer. This term was created for, but not limited in use to, the Colorectal Cancer Structured Reporting Protocol (2nd Edition, 2012) developed by the Royal College of Pathologists of Australasia (RCPA).
