The information you provide about your local test/measurement and how it is used is most helpful to us.
A description of the observation or analyte, how it is measured or performed, what it is used for, and clinical relevance will helps us create clear term definitions. Supporting documentation (e.g. package inserts, sample reports) is also very useful and often required. You may also refer to our documentation regarding the information we need for new term requests.
For the proposed LOINC name, just give us your best guess. You can use information from your local test or observation and following the naming patterns in the database and described in the LOINC Users' Guide.
We ask that you submit no more than 50 proposed terms per request. If your project requires more terms, please contact us for alternate submission methods.
